Kabinet múz, Sukova 4

Last year we invited descendants of Jewish families who managed to survive the Holocaust, but whose property was confiscated after the war, to the Meeting Brno festival. Even though they are still the ‘rightful owners’ of a number of important Brno buildings, our city or region uses them for their own promotion now. Almost 120 descendants of these families arrived from five continents, and many of them were visiting their town of origin for the first time ever. How was their journey to their back roots and how did they like it here? Their one-week’s stay was captured by documentary filmmaker Roman Zmrzlý. You can now see the festive premiere of this documentary which will be attended by a member of the Löw-Beer family. The film screening will be followed by a debate interpreted into Czech and German.

Guests of the debate:

Roman Zmrzlý – director and documentarist, Cinétik studio

Daniel Löw-Beer – participant of last year’s Family Reunion meeting

Moderated by Mojmír Jeřábek, director of the Czech Centre in Vienna and initiator of The Family Reunion.
